![]() Today we have 18 employees including seven of the finest repair technicians in the country. Originally we were a repair shop that specialized in woodwind and sax restoration. We've been in business since 1953 and have had the same owner since 1963. Wichita Band Instrument Company is a small musical instrument emporium located in the center of the USA. ![]() With mouthpiece (standard American Morse taper) and good original case. RARE! Couesnon made quite a few flugelhorns and trumpets, not so many valve trombones. It's a good French valve trombone from a maker noted for their brass instruments. Note the valve pistons with no worn spots to the original nickel plating and still tight in the casings (see photos). The original lacquer finish is worn about 25%, now oversprayed in our shop to protect the worn areas and preserve the appearance of the instrument. ![]() Our shop has removed dents and dings, but the instrument has never been seriously damaged, the bell never creased. Couesnon's 1960 catalog identifies it as model PX2157 with the "same brilliant tone and custom features" as their slide trombone, made of French brass with lacquer finish. We estimate that the instrument was made in Couesnon's workshop in the early sixties. Good Couesnon (Paris) Bb valve trombone, no dents, good valves! ![]()
